Iffezheim International Racecourse
The idyllic town of Iffezheim in the district of Rastatt is transformed into a noble metropolis every year during the gallop races in spring, late summer and autumn. The gallop races are an attractive mixture of elegant flair and folk festival, exciting competition and relaxation in marvellous surroundings. It was Edouard Bénazet, the founder of the world-famous Baden-Baden casino, who established the races in Iffezheim in 1858. The racecourse, which is one of the most well-kept and beautiful facilities in the world, has undoubtedly characterised the image of the pretty half-timbered community with its unique flair ever since.
