Schwarzach Minster

The cathedral of the former Benedictine abbey, visible from afar, with its preserved baroque farm buildings and the magnificent monastery courtyard gate, is one of the great artistic treasures of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Today, unique concert events take place in the ‘Romanesque Minster Schwarzach’, attracting more and more visitors from all over southern Germany with top-class performers, unrivalled acoustics and a special ambience. In addition, the ‘Schwarzacher Kirwe’ has been celebrated every year on the third Tuesday in October for over 700 years. This celebration is dedicated to the reconstruction of the church after a devastating fire in 1299 severely damaged the cathedral.
